| Bio: | This blank slate overwhelms me, even though I love to define myself. The older I get, the more I realize how absurd it is to try to contain myself to one favorite everything--to make myself so decisive when in reality it's also beautiful to have variety. But, how to convey that here? I am 24, from the Seattle-area, and though I adore the sun, I’m a Northwest girl at heart. (And I’ve started out by talking about the weather! How dull!). I studied at the University of Oregon, and that makes me a duck fan. I do love me some green and yellow. I’m married to a wonderful man of God, and we live in a condo in the suburbs (actually, the biggest neighborhood in America!) with our two cats, Pepper and Spice. We don’t have kids, and right now we don’t want them. You know how they do baby dedications at church? We’d like our church to begin doing “vacation dedications.” Haha! I love Jesus Christ, which makes me a Christian. Did you know Christian used to be a deragatory term referring to someone who was attempting to be a "little Christ?" That's me. Deragatory or not. I began my relationship with God in high school, as the result of dogged friends who invited me to youth group until I belonged there. I thank God for this every day, and it’s one of the reasons I work with high school kids today. In college, though, my relationship really blossomed and I became the God-lover I am today. We are active at Eastgate Bible Fellowship in Bellevue, WA. I have the gift of discernment, which makes me fully aware, when I interact with people, of the general sense of good or evil in a person or a place. It comes off as judgment sometimes, though usually righteous judgment, and that’s something God and I are working on. It also makes me the black and white person I am – to me, something is either right or wrong. Behavior is always intentional; words are always meant the way they sound. We either agree or we disagree. You can see why I get in trouble sometimes... This personality of mine mixes in interesting ways with my societal likes and dislikes. I LOVE books that try to blur the line between black and white or try to expand the grey matter. Jodi Picoult makes my stomach turn and my heart race at the same time. I feel both giddy and dirty after reading her novels. I’m not so into drama on TV, because I never find it believable. So, I watch a lot of Friends and a lot of reality TV. Not so into exercise, but I am a lifetime member at Weight Watchers. That was one of my greatest accomplishments (it sounds lame, but I had never even considered the impact of food on my body before joining WW).
